03 | 30 Criminal Justice Reform in Pennsylvania: Navigating The Path Forward

The Monroe County NAACP Branch’s Political Action Committee is hosting a panel discussion called “Criminal Justice Reform in PA: Navigating the Path Forward” regarding the Clean Slate Act that was recently passed in PA. This allows residents with certain prior criminal records to petition for them to be sealed, giving them a “clean slate”. We will also discuss the parole/probation system, bail refor, wrongful convictions and how to prevent re-entry to the prison system.

Panelists include: State Rep. Jordan Harris (Democratic Whip), State Rep. Maureen Madden, George Little, Executive Deputy Secretary of the PA Dept. of Corrections, Amy Gulli of the Office of the PA Auditor General and Marissa Moyers Bluestine, Executive Director of the PA Innocence Project.

Moderating will be Dr. Carrie L. Maloney, Ph.D., Director of the Criminal Justice Program at ESU
