Judging by the colder weather it's quite obvious winter is "somewhat" (and I'm perfectly fine with the lack of snow) here. I consider myself quite lucky to be able to throw layers on to shield me from the harsh temperatures.
As a pet owner, I have the pleasure of standing outside waiting for my Jack Russell, Lilly Monster, to do her business. Fortunately for me (and everyone else) I wear clothing. Unfortunately for her, she has short hair and no shoes to protect her little feet from getting cold.
Lo and behold clothing and shoes for pets of all shapes and sizes are made!! I’m guilty of dressing my dog up; T-Shirts, Sweaters, Coats...but I wouldn’t exactly compare myself to the way Paris Hilton dressed up her Chihuahua.
I simply do it in hopes of making her feel more comfortable while being outside in the cold. But really, why do we do this? Technically most dogs have fur to keep them warm, and still we spend money trying to be a good pet-parents. It’s no wonder she shoots me an annoyed, yet tolerant look every time I dress her up.

She should be thankful that I care so much, and surely I'm not the only one that worries about their pet in the winter...right? But, do we honestly dress our pets for their protection or do we do it to secretly get a laugh at their expense? Perhaps I'm guilty of both.
